I'll be teaching a course on constructed languages in the s= pring. Perhaps this is presumptuous, but I was wondering if you might be ab= le to suggest any members in the Virginia area who might be willing to come= to our campus in the spring to talk about Lojban? My name is Linda Lanz, and I'm a linguistics professor at the College = of William and Mary. I'll be teaching a course on constructed languages in = the spring. Perhaps this is presumptuous, but I was wondering if = you might be able to suggest any members in the Virginia area who might be willing to come to our campus in the s= pring to talk about Lojban?

Ideally, our guest speaker would come to talk to the class about his o= r her involvement with Lojban. The students are mainly linguistics students= , and some of them are pretty active with invented languages of their own. = If the guest speaker is amenable to it, we could also make it open to the entire campus (as it would undoub= tedly be of interest to students in computer science and logic as well), bu= t that would be entirely up to him or her.

Our class will meet on Fridays in the afternoon, but we can schedule a= special session anytime that's convenient for you. As a state school, we c= an't offer a large honorarium or anything like that, but we can certainly o= ffer a hotel room, meals, and travel reimbursement (mileage driven).

If you know of anyone who might be interested, I'd appreciate suggesti= ons. Please feel free to forward this message to anyone who you think might= be interested. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Linda
