Other places are the Gravats, Filhote and Feia Islands. The ncora (Anchor) Island, which got it's name because of it's shape, offers shelter from the winds and currents. There isn't an ideal season for diving. In May, when the winds are stronger, the visibility may be affected. The wind direction is also important, because, if it blows head on the beach, the visibility gets bad. But the other climatic conditions don't interfere much with the activity. You can go out by boat, even on a rainy day, to the islands and the water can be extremely clear. Since the islands are oceanic, they don't suffer influence from bad weather. Another positive point is the weather in Bzios, which gets in The Bzios' coastline is rich in sea life, part of it due to the resurfacing phenomenon, which is an oceanic current coming from Antarctica and brings nutrients that attract big fish like the grouper, spotted fish and giant manta-rays. Corals, anchovies, barracudas and green turtles can be seen.
