New parts of the soc= iety won't learn it anyway for obvious reasons most of which have alrea= dy been mentioned in this thread.

IT'D BE NICE= IF PEOPLE WERE PAID FOR THE ACTUAL WORK.

One = example is the upper ontology list with definitions in English and usage ex= amples for every te sumti (earlier called "dictionary").
A similar one (the same as the previous one but repackaged) is a phrasebo= ok.
Most fluent speakers are here in this mailing list.
Ask who can do that and how much the LLG can pay.

When at least this project is done then promoting Lojban can be productive= . But not in the present situation.

What would the = costs be? I wonder if it would be worth trialling, if the cost is so low th= at it would comfortably be within LLG's meagre resources.

Would your recommended candidate be able to read and write L= ojban? That would seem to be a fairly essential criterion. (I can no longer= read and write Lojban, and that -- pardonably -- excludes me from signific= ant Lojban activity.)

For now the test is only written, possibly with listening compr= ehension
questions (there is nothing in the database schema yet about audio
recordings).

The dictionary isn't required except for determining level 3 on the fu&= #39;ivla,
lujvo, and cmene scales (Requires knowing the meaning of a defined
cmene/lujvo/fu'ivla). There may be a problem if the word is defined onl= y in
Japanese and the testee speaks English but not Japanese, or vice versa.
