My dinner date and I had a truly fantastic experience at The Root this evening. We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:00 PM and were promptly seated.... We were going to a concert and didn't want to deal with rush hour, so we drove to Clarkston and found this gem, thanks to Yelp.....There really is no downside... Ok- so to be honest up front- I'm a huge fan. ....Is it the highest quality Mexican food ever? No. the atmosphere is grossly bland and outdated... if even... The scallops appetizer is my fav and I usually order that as a main dish. Excellent wine as well. Highly recommend!! Village Grill is a local Go To spot. Don't let the location fool you. The Village Chicken is one of their best specials to watch for. I've been coming to Anaams since they first opened 6 years ago and I can honestly say this is the only middle eastern my family and I come to! The food is... This is a upscale restaurant in a strip mall.  Extremely crowded every time I've been here.  Definitely a gold mine.....I started off with the tomato bisque... Oh my goodness, this is the best food I've had hands down in all of Clarkston. ....We got here and asked for a table outside and the hostess told us no... We had Billy's cater our daughter's grad party. Everyone complimented how great the food was. Jodi was awesome in delivering and helping set up. Thank you... I had a pretty decent Cobb salad here with house made bacon bits and smoked ham and turkey... which made it very flavorful. They also handled the take-out... Love their burgers, chicken sandwiches and now ... SWEET POTATO FRIES! Always good service at this Wendy's! Great coffee served with a smile and my coconut white chocolate was delicious!! Definitely worth stopping here!! We got a bunch of $1 barbacoa street tacos. The barbacoa was seasoned so perfectly. I get similar delicious tacos in KC for $2 a piece. This is such good... Great food..Small but very healthy portions...Bright and warm decor..Nice all around..Friendly staff.
