The Nintendo Switch was officially unveiled back in late October via a short video that revealed the name and showed it off in action. Nintendo kept a lot of information close to the chest with their announcement, but they had said we would be getting the console???s full game reveal on January 12. With that date just over a month away, Nintendo has finally locked down an official time for this presentation.

As revealed by Nintendo on their official Facebook page, Nintendo will be holding their Switch presentation on January 12 at 8:00 pm PT/11:00 pm ET. With it being so late in the day, the event itself that is happening in Japan will technically be on January 13 in Japan, but just gets in on the 12th in the US.

This presentation is setting itself up to be huge one, with Nintendo being very quiet about many of the details of the Switch. At this point we know that the system is a console/portable hybrid that will be cartridge base. There will be a few different control schemes, with you able to use the detachable Joy-Con controllers while attached to the handheld screen, the regular controller base, as well as individually, with the option for a Pro style controller as well.

With a release scheduled for March, this presentation should be a blowout of information, including the official specs, price, potential bundles, games at launch and after, as well as other details like the online infrastructure and any sort of backwards compatibility for digital games.

We are extremely excited to see what Nintendo has in store for us with the Switch. Nintendo really needs a winner after the failure of the Wii U, so starting off on the right foot with this presentation could be huge. The price of the system and launch titles will definitely play a big part in that, so we will definitely be tuning in on January 12 at 8:00 pm PT/11:00 pm ET.
