Having a static site with an official text (whether or not we already have such text) will allow us to redirect users to it when mw.lojban.org wiki is down or even when Robin's servers are completely down. However, one needs to write out such official texts since a static site won't have the same capabilities as an editable wiki and it won't have all the texts the wiki has. So if la guskant has a proposal for a place for official texts then I support this idea since it in alignment with my idea of having a backup site with static content. However, I have no idea what should be official, probably, some stuff that is most important for people interested in Lojban. > . karis. > > > On Sep 8, 2017 01:26, "Gleki Arxokuna" wrote: > > 1. I apologize for not seeing this email =C2=A0earlier. I am not sure why= the main material (text) we already have on lojban.org is not a fine framework for any website we= might have. Instead of new text I believe what needs to be done is for one= of more people to go through it and put together a proposal of what should= be considered official and then we vote on it.=C2=A0

Well, if your concern are only technical issues (whi= ch are mine too) then lojban.org alone is= not a fine framework. Having a static site with an official text (whether = or not we already have such text) will allow us to redirect users to it whe= n mw.lojban.org wiki is down or even w= hen Robin's servers are completely down.

Howev= er, one needs to write out such official texts since a static site won'= t have the same capabilities as an editable wiki and it won't have all = the texts the wiki has.

So if la guskant has a pro= posal for a place for official texts then I support this idea since it in a= lignment with my idea of having a backup site with static content. However,= I have no idea what should be official, probably, some stuff that is most = important for people interested in Lojban.

on this? On texts you mean?
If on design it's not the same.
=C2=A0
and I will follow up with him and = check on the status. Am I correct that by static website= Gleki means a website that is a basically fixed document. I believe that t= he basic structure of the website is one decision the board should make and= I neither have memories of us having done so nor read in the log of such a= decision.

I'm only i= nterested in texts that are supposecd to be official. The structure of the = website is of less importance while there are no texts.

.karis.

Septe= mber, still nothing.

Anyway I support the idea by la gus= kant to make a static version of an official LLG website.
Obvious= ly, there needs to be someone to write the text.
is la guskant wi= lling to write something?

As for hosting I suggest= for anything (preferably free of charge, github pages ... whatever).

As for CMS I suggest for anything simple. Github hosts many static web= site generators.
