The whole point of the new setup is that the index is maintained by internal cross-references to particular points in the text, not to page numbers. Basically, somewhere in the text you have a marker that says "here, put an index entry for broda", and that is generated into a list of page numbers later on. I wouldn't dispense with an index under any circumstances and, in fact, getting the index to work in the new version took something like a solid 2 weeks of basically all of my free time. > What is the likely page-count, and does our POD producer do good > quality paperbacks in that size?
