I'd like to weigh in on this one. I think there are advantages to ebook format. For one thing, it could be sold on Amazon. The Kindle and Kindle applications seem to be getting more popular. (I don't have a Kindle but I have the app on my iPad.) It may be worth asking Amazon about the possibility. I have to admit that I haven't seen any larger epub books, but the ones I have seen tend to be user friendly and allow for enlarging the text (or also shrinking). I don't know what this would do to indexing but since I've read that there are now text books being offered in epub format, I would imagine that it has been dealt with.
