FLW is given credit for designing the first house to incorporate what we would now call &quot;an open floor plan&quot; which was really quite an unusual concept in its time. 

As well, his style was to create harmony between the structure and the flow of nature outside so his homes almost looked practically a part of its surroundings.

FLW was a genius but a complicated, at times difficult man. We may not agree with the way he chose to live his life...he hurt many...but he was a man of great conviction and determination and one who refused to compromise on his unique vision. And as much as he may have caused suffering to some, he in turn accepted suffering rather than give in to ideas he didn't believe in.

I was in awe of the beauty of Taliesin. Being there of course, far surpasses any photographs in a book although the photographs may light a fire under 


loathe Starbucks and run from them like the plague so although this place is a little off the beaten track for me, it's one of the places to which I'll go for my morning caffeine fix.

I don't drink a lot of coffee but I do want one delicious cup in the morning. You can find what suits you here. The coffee comes in the familiar types, styles, flavors and varieties but I take mine straight and plain. A medium coffee, please.

If I get there early enough I have time to sit, read the paper and get oriented to the day. 

If you need food, which I never want yet because it's usually too early for me, you'll find things to choose from like pastries, bagels, and panini. Later in the day they also have soups, salads

When I'm here, I'm pleasantly reminded of the service in local village shops in Italy where even the smallest  is often given great care by being wrapped nicely in pretty paper.
Similarly, at Puopolo the staff will box and wrap and ribbon whatever it is you're buying. 
The result is that you feel great walking out of here with your delicious and pretty chocolate treasures whether it's for you or for a gift.

You can have special orders made up too so just tell them what you're thinking about doing with chocolate and they'll help you execute your desire.

I love this shop and the people who work here. Making chocolates by hand is an art and Puopolo does it beautifully and tastefully.My husband and I have a tradition that started when we were about to be married. We had lots of friends and family who traveled here for the wedding from out of state and stayed at a local inn. 

For each guest we made what we called &quot;comfort baskets&quot; and had one of them delivered to each guest's room at the inn so it would be waiting for them upon their arrival. 
Each basket was different but we included some basic things
