A great site that is imense. How on earth they can spot even 10 percent of whats here I have no idea. Unlikely that I was going to hear or spot my Little Crake -it was midday but I was content with the birds on offer. Various Marsh Harriers - at least 4. Some being mobbed by various Little Gulls, Terns even a Hobby that itself was being mobbed by a Tern and then one male mobbing a White Tailed Eagle - Superb.I got some very distant but then they are big birds. There were a few Cranes about aswell. I seriously reckon you could spend a few days here to cover the marshes, lake and surrounding fields. The only other person with binos was my daughter who was content with GS Wood. d to see a few waders but missed out on BB Sand in the area. The roadtrip produced Golden Eagle about 15kms east Pori. These are rare in Finland and always great to seeUp to Ruovesi and a lunch stop en-route tactically chosen for the nice lake. A good choice as there was a pair of BT Divers and a Red Necked Grebe. Beautiful plumage...Middle finland is hard work. No Capers or Grouse etc. (yet) One Eagle Owl and an Osprey. Brambling, Wood Warbler, Common Sand, Raven... Good to have Common Rosefinch in the same place they were 33 years ago. Lots of Siskin. A nice friendly fin up the road who wasn't happy I took a wrong turn and ended up in his yard - the next day his tractor and equipement was parked firmly across the yard entrance -- I get the message... n to Pori. Nightjar and Wood but no Owls. The nightjar was cool and certainly my best views of the bird - wish I had the camera but I hadn't wanted to leave it in the car in town earlier
