Many of you probably already have your holiday inventory lined up and ready to send in. Well, don't worry. There's still time to stock up and send in your products to take advantage of the busiest sales season of the year. To help you out, we've included a number of new tools to help you get your inventory to the fulfillment centers, received, and ready for shipment quickly. One of the biggest concerns about shipping products is the need to protect them during transit so that they reach their destination without getting damaged or damaging other products. The new Prep Matrix will help you determine the best method for protecting your products. -------------------------------------- FBA News -------------------------------------- Offer free two-day shipping on your own website with Prime on Your Site Amazon Prime is a membership program that provides consumers with FREE Two-Day Shipping on millions of listings with no minimum purchase, discounted One-Day Shipping, and FREE Release Date Delivery for new releases. Through Prime on Your Site, you can provide these same features for eligible products on your own website by offering Prime members the reliability and excellent experience of Checkout by Amazon or Amazon Webstore along with your Fulfillment by Amazon account. Amazon Prime members are some of Amazon’s most active customers. Offering FREE Two-Day Shipping to Amazon Prime members on your site helps you: - Attract Amazon’s most active customers to your website. - Increase conversion on your website as Amazon Prime members can take advantage of FREE Two-Day Shipping. - Increase customer loyalty to your website among Amazon Prime members. Amazon Prime on Your Site helps you to differentiate your website from the competition without making an expensive and risky investment in a home-grown program. Learn more about Prime on Your Site: http://www.amazonservices.com/content/amazon-prime.htm/ -------------------------------------- Refresh your inventory for the holidays Now's a good time to check your fulfillment center inventory and, if necessary, remove any old inventory or re-price it to sell in order to make room for your holiday inventory. The next FBA Inventory Cleanup will be conducted on August 15, 2012. Inventory that has been in our fulfillment centers for 365 days or more as of August 15, 2012, will be assessed a Long-Term Storage Fee. Now you have an even easier way to avoid Long-Term Storage Fees. The new Automated Long-Term Storage Removals setting gives you the option to have us create a shipment for you to remove all of your inventory that has been in the fulfillment centers for 365 days or more. The removal order will be created on or after each Inventory Cleanup date and create a return or disposal order for inventory avoiding the Long-Term Storage Fee. You can update your settings at any time, but if you want to have a removal order created for the next Inventory Cleanup date, you need to set your preference before August 14, 2012. Removal fees will still apply. Go to Fulfillment by Amazon Settings to review your preferences (sign in required): https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/ssof/configuration/index.html/ You can also use the Recommended Removal report to easily identify and remove Units that may be assessed Long-Term Storage Fees. This report auto-calculates on an ASIN-by-ASIN basis the number of Units you would need to remove (assuming no further sales of your inventory) to avoid Long-Term Storage Fees, and it will pre-populate a removal request for those Units if you choose to remove them. You can access the Recommended Removal report in your Seller Account by going to Reports > Fulfillment > Inventory > Recommended Removal and requesting a download. If you receive a "No results found" message when you run the Recommended Removals report, it means that you have no inventory that will be charged the Long-Term Storage fee. For fees and more information go to FBA Long-Term Storage: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=200684570 -------------------------------------- Tools & Tips -------------------------------------- Pack right with the new Prep Matrix One of the most important steps you can take to protect your inventory is to properly package your products. Every unit you send to Amazon must be able to withstand the rigors of inbound transportation, storage, and handling by carriers—but not all products are created equal. While some products can endure the fulfillment process in the manufacturer's packaging, other products, such as glass, fabric, or knives, need some extra preparation to ensure that they do not break, get dirty, or damage other products or injure customers or anyone else who might handle the product during the course of fulfillment. That's why we've created the Prep Matrix. The Prep Matrix is a two-sided PDF document that can be downloaded and printed for use in your garage or warehouse by employees preparing your products for shipment to Amazon. This tool is based on the same matrix that is used within the fulfillment centers to evaluate products when they are received at the dock. It identifies specific product types and the kind of preparation and supplies needed for preparation: - Glass/Fragile - Liquids - Apparel, Fabric, Plush, and Textiles - Baby Products - Sold as Set - Sharp - Small - Adult A link to the PDF is available in the online FBA Manual under Packaging and Prep Requirements. You can also download the PDF by following this link: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/fba-help/QRG/FBA-Prep-Matrix.pdf -------------------------------------- Alert fulfillment centers with carrier tracking numbers Tracking IDs are a handy way of tracking your shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers. But did you know that the fulfillment centers also use your tracking numbers to accommodate incoming shipments? Receiving both small-parcel and truckload shipments of inventory at Amazon fulfillment centers can be streamlined by providing a tracking number for your shipments. Small Parcel: The carrier's tracking ID Less than Truckload (LTL) or Full Truckload (FTL): The carrier's pro-reference number and the bill of lading (BOL) number referenced on your shipment's paper or electronic BOL These tracking numbers enable Amazon to identify where your inventory might be during transit and when it's scheduled to arrive at an Amazon fulfillment center. This is especially useful if we partner with your selected carrier for other Amazon shipments since these carriers provide us with ongoing updates of shipments they are delivering to Amazon locations. When you provide tracking information, we'll be able to show you more details about the location of your shipment and when it is scheduled to reach its destination. The more Amazon knows about the number of shipments and the volume of inventory scheduled to arrive at a fulfillment center, the easier it is for us to assign the appropriate number of resources for unloading and processing your inventory efficiently and accurately. -------------------------------------- Contact customers directly Having Amazon manage customer service for products sold on Amazon.com and fulfilled by Amazon can free your time to focus on sourcing products and managing your business, but there are times when you might want or need to reach out to a customer to resolve an issue with a product. When necessary, you can use the Contact Buyer form. With this form you can contact the buyer for order information, feedback, returns, refunds, or additional information. Once an order has shipped, the customer's name appears in the Manage Orders page under "Contact Buyer." Clicking the customer's name opens the Contact Customer page. Select your subject and compose your message. Keep in mind that messages must be in regard to the customer's order and marketing messages and links to other websites are not permitted. You can then monitor responses from customers through the Buyer Messages widget on your Seller Account homepage. Replenish Low or Out-of-Stock inventory with Amazon Selling Coach

Amazon Selling Coach is a feature that recommends actions that FBA sellers could take to help increase sales and in-stock rates. The Low or Out-of-Stock notification informs sellers of the status of their products sold on Amazon. To enable sellers to quickly replenish their FBA inventory, we have added a button and placed it in the Business Reports tab above the Low or Out-of-Stock items. This button automatically converts the list of Low or Out-of-Stock products into the shipment creation workflow to facilitate ease of replenishment within your Seller Account. This tool helps you replenish inventory quickly. For assistance in determining the quantity, try using the Inventory Health Report under Fulfillment Reports.

Ensure Scannability of your FBA Labels

On June 6, 2012, we updated the Stickered Inventory requirements with information about label and printer requirements, designing and printing your own labels, and what specifications to use. If you are designing and printing your own FBA labels, following the label standards described in the guidelines will help ensure quick and accurate receipt of your products in the Amazon fulfillment center.

Pack right with the new Prep Matrix

One of the most important steps you can take to protect your inventory is to properly package your products. Every unit you send to Amazon must be able to withstand the rigors of inbound transportation, storage, and handling by carriers—but not all products are created equal. Alert fulfillment centers with carrier tracking numbers

Tracking IDs are a handy way of tracking your shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers. But did you know that the fulfillment centers also use your tracking numbers to accommodate incoming shipments? Receiving both small-parcel and truckload shipments of inventory at Amazon fulfillment centers can be streamlined by providing a tracking number for your shipments.

Shipment type Provide
Small Parcel The carrier's tracking ID
Less than Truckload (LTL)
or
Full Truckload (FTL)
The carrier's pro-reference number
and
The bill of lading (BOL) number referenced on your shipment's paper or electronic BOL

These tracking numbers enable Amazon to identify where your inventory might be during transit and when it's scheduled to arrive at an Amazon fulfillment center.

Once an order has shipped, the customer's name appears in the Manage Orders page under "Contact Buyer." Clicking the customer's name opens the Contact Customer page.
