Rescuing Stranded Inventory Made Easy

With the holidays on the horizon, you can't afford to let any inventory lie stranded in the fulfillment center. Now seeing and rescuing stranded inventory is easier than ever.

This new feature resides in your All Inventory View on Seller Central. Whenever you have any stranded inventory in the fulfillment centers, Fix Stranded Inventory will appear to the left of your inventory list. Selecting this option will filter your list so only stranded inventory will be visible. Using the Actions drop-down menu, you can rescue stranded inventory by relisting it or creating a removal order:

Fix Stranded Inventory

Fix Stranded Inventory can help you identify dormant sales opportunities or avoid unnecessary storage fees by removing units you don't intend to sell.

5 Top Inbound Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

During the holidays, every shipment delay can be costly, and the best way to avoid delays is to make sure that your inbound shipments are perfect. We asked our FBA inbound experts: What common mistakes do sellers make when packaging shipments that delay the receiving process? Here are the product prep and inbound issues they see most often, and how to avoid them:

  1. Quantities that don’t match the Purchase Order. Double-check that each item is listed on the Purchase Order in the correct quantity.
  2. Items with no scannable barcodes. Products should have scannable barcodes, and labels should be placed flat, covering the original barcode.
  3. Unprotected fragile products. Fragile items must withstand a 3-foot drop. Wrap these products individually with bubble-wrap and place a scannable barcode label on the outside of the packaging.
  4. Wrong bag or no bag for certain product categories. Exposed textiles, liquids, small items, and baby products should be packaged in transparent poly bags with a suffocation warning.
  5. Shipments that aren’t sent to the right fulfillment centers. Sending the right quantities of product to the right fulfillment centers helps ensure that your items are available to customers faster.
