Making Your Listings Easier for Customers to Find Your Amazon listings should look their absolute best during the holiday sho= pping season. High-quality product listings make it easy for customers to f= ind, evaluate, and purchase your products. What makes for a high-quality listing? At minimum, be sure to include basic= information: - Images help customers select products and make purchasing decisions. - Brands allow customers to filter search results. To Split or Not to Split: Sending Inventory to FBA

When you create a shipment in preparation for sending inventory to Amazon, by default your inventory may be split at the Merchant SKU (MSKU) level into multiple shipments, with separate portions of each MSKU directed to as many as three different fulfillment centers in our network.

We call this Distributed Inventory Placement. What if you’d prefer to send all units of a single MSKU to a single fulfillment center? You can enroll in the Inventory Placement Service. Greetings from Fulfillment by Amazon

This month, it’s all about impressions and inventory—getting the most exposure to Amazon customers and staying in stock when it counts.

By now, your holiday FBA stock is probably in our fulfillment centers in anticipation of the peak shopping season, and you have replenishments at the ready for popular products. Read on for the tools that help you stay on top of your Amazon business, from quick fixes that could make a dramatic difference in your listing exposure to our newly improved real-time Selling Coach notifications on inventory cover.

Making Your Listings Easier for Customers to Find

Your Amazon listings should look their absolute best during the holiday shopping season. High-quality product listings make it easy for customers to find, evaluate, and purchase your products.

What makes for a high-quality listing? At minimum, be sure to include basic information:

  • Images help customers select products and make purchasing decisions.
  • Brands allow customers to filter search results. If customers filter by brand and your listing is missing the brand designation--even if it's included in the description--the customers may never find your listing.
  • Descriptions provide the details that customers use to compare similar products and make buying decisions.

To help you focus on the listings that need your attention the most, Amazon recently rolled out two types of listing alerts that quickly let you know specific actions you can take to improve your listings.

Classification alerts highlight your listings that are not located in the optimal location on the Amazon website and enable you to change the location where your ASINs appear. You can adjust these listings one by one or in bulk through Seller Central. To learn more, visit the Classification Alerts help page (sign-in required).

Category (item type) alerts identify listings that are being suppressed because they have a missing a value for the Category field. Visit the help page to learn more about how to fix Suppressed Listings.

For more information about how to find and adjust product listings with quality alerts, watch this video tutorial.

Improved Amazon Selling Coach Inventory Alerts

This past month, we’ve refined your Selling Coach inventory notifications. We can now provide you notifications of your Low Inventory and Out-of-Stock Inventory close to real-time. You can access these alerts in your email inbox, in your Seller Central dashboard, or in Seller Central Reports. If you use Marketplace Web Services, you can access recommendations through the Recommendations API.

New Tool: View and Reconcile Your Inbound Shipments Quickly

We know you want to be able to resolve discrepancies with your inbound shipments without delay and without a lot of hassle. We created the Shipment Reconciliation Tool to help you do just that. When you use the new Shipment Creation Workflow, you can view your inbound shipments as they are received on the Summary page. There you can look for the Shipment Reconciliation Tool in the new “Reconcile” tab, next to the “Contents” tab. It provides you with the status of your inbound shipments as they are being received. You can even file a case from the tool to request research from Seller Support. This all-in-one tool can take some of the stress out of inventory management and help resolve discrepancies quicker than before.

The Shipment Reconciliation Tool automatically performs research on your inbound shipments including delivery validation, reimbursement confirmation, and inventory adjustments for lost and found units. It will also tell you if some of your shipment is still in transit or if the 72-hour receiving window has not passed. You can even use the tool to simply confirm that your shipments arrived at our fulfillment centers and have been completely processed through the receiving queue. You can view your past shipments as well as view the progress of your current inbound shipments.

For more information on how to use the tool in the Shipment Creation Workflow, please visit the Shipment Reconciliation Tool help page or watch the video tutorial.

How to Avoid Transit Damage to Your Inbound Shipments

When your inbound shipments are received at Amazon fulfillment centers, our associates take great care in receiving your inventory safely and efficiently. Sometimes damage occurs before your shipments arrive. One way you can help protect your products in transit is to make sure to pack your shipments using appropriate shipping cartons and packing material. Damage to the contents of your shipping container can occur through the normal vibration during transportation, so even your non-fragile items need adequate cushioning.

Our receiving process is designed for the utmost efficiency, so unexpected or non-standard shipping cartons and prep can cause delays. Make sure to use only approved packing material inside your boxes and never use loose packing material or packing peanuts. If you cannot use a new box, make sure to cover old labels and markings.

We’ve assembled tips on ways to protect your inbound shipments on our Shipment Packaging Requirements help page.

Selling in Europe Now Easier and Less Expensive

If you've been thinking about expanding your customer base, now is a great time to take advantage of lower costs and new tools in Amazon's European marketplaces.

In September, we lowered our prices for the European Fulfillment Network (EFN). That means you can store your inventory in one of five European marketplaces and Amazon will ship it across European borders at new, lower prices. For example, if you are storing inventory in a UK fulfillment center, a Standard-Size Media product will cost £ 0.90 less to ship to Germany. A Standard-Size Non-Media product will cost £ 1.10 less to ship from UK to Germany. For a complete list of FBA and EFN fees for the UK, go the UK FBA Pricing page.

These costs are only one side of the coin – selling globally requires listing and pricing management as well. Amazon has made this easier with the recent launch of Build International Listings, a new tool that enables you to automatically list your products from one Amazon European marketplace to any or all of the other four Amazon marketplaces—all from one account. With Build International Listings, you select your source marketplace (for example, UK) and set pricing rules that price listings in your target marketplace (such as Germany or France) based on the source marketplace listing prices. You can have the target prices match your source price, increase by a fixed value, or increase by a percentage. Prices automatically adjust based on the rules and reflect exchange rate fluctuations and price changes you make to your source listings. If you add, delete, or edit a source listing, the listings in your target marketplaces change accordingly.

Learn more about Build International Listings.

Amazon is doing its part to bring the world closer to home. Lower EFN pricing and Build International Listings are making it more affordable and easier than ever. International marketplaces are now within your reach. Learn more about Amazon Global Selling in Europe.
