Update: Port Congestion Touches U.S. West Coast

You may have heard that congestion has impacted inbound cargo at port facilities in Southern California and throughout the West Coast of the U.S. in recent weeks. According to news reports, significant offloading delays are occurring in Los Angeles/Long Beach, California, with additional capacity issues reported in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington.

If you work with suppliers who receive products from overseas, you may notice delays. As you manage your replenishment schedule during the holiday selling season, consider reaching out to your suppliers to ensure that inventory delays will not affect your plans.

To stay on top of these port-related delays, you may want to monitor communication from your carriers, as well as reports from local, national, and social media.
