I recognize that Mark and Pierre have now responded. Jay is no longer a member, and there is a motion to remove Stephen, from membership that has been seconded. If there is no objection to removal of Stephen by the end of Friday, that motion will be considered passed. ----- Regarding the comments by Matt and John Cowan, I certainly am NOT of the opinion that either of them should resign. Both have shown sufficient interest to be present at this meeting. And both have contributed to the community within the last year despite their claims of non-involvement (Matt has posted over 2 dozen messages to Lojban List and reportedly is helping out in keeping amazon supplied with CLL stock; John Cowan has been responsive to Lojban-relevant questions on the Loglan mailing list). Without checking, I think that there are plenty among us who have done less (Nora notes that she is among them, though she did recently start doing LogFlash again to refresh her vocabulary skill). I am still hopeful that either or both of them will eventually become more active in participation in Lojban activities, just as I hope that Nora and I will do so. I still value their perspectives on Lojban issues, when they choose to offer them. Whether that is a "compelling reason, as John refers to, is up to him. On the other hand, I don't want to make it an annual ritual to keep on trying to talk people into remaining members if they really don't want to be members, even when they are valuable to the community. I miss Nick Nicolas's involvement as well, but I sometimes think that pressuring him is one of the reasons he isn't currently involved. I leave it to Matt and John, and to the other members, whether their resignations should stand. > *** Reports > > It would be useful to know the status of the byfy work.
