As a social media professional (partly): Facebook is great for marketing to people in their late twenties and older (and provides a reasonable discussion forum option, though everyone technically inclined that I know still prefers e-mail lists for that purpose). Twitter has a somewhat smaller reach but is much more of an all-ages thing; for those focusing on the tween, teen, and college age segments, Twitter and Instagram (and to a lesser extent Pinterest) is where it's at. I'm not sure Lojban manifests itself in visual enough ways for Instagram to make any sense at all. Having an official Lojban Facebook page (as in, page people follow, not group - the jboste seems fine for that kind of use) and Twitter account that duplicate the same content via two platforms would be easy enough to set up, and I can offer a little bit of advice about how to administer them. I'm happy to help make this work, but I feel that I'm not currently plugged into the language and its userbase enough to do much of the content generation. I'd be inclined to suggest that, given that we're promoting a language but (mostly) to people who aren't particularly close to fluent, such an account should make all posts bilingual, saying the same thing in English (still the majority native language of Lojbanists) and Lojban. - mi'e .kreig.daniyl. _______________________________________________ Llg-members mailing list Llg-members@lojban.org http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/llg-members
