The nerve pain is greatly reduced, so I can concentrate for normal periods. I can type more or less freely now, handwriting is more problematical, since I reduced fine-motor control and my hand strength is only a fraction of normal. I still have numbness and cold sensitivity in the hand. My neck can turn 60-70 degrees to each side without moving my shoulders and torso; it was more like 45 degrees when I started, and I wasn't even aware that my flexibility was reduced so much over the years. The problems I am having now likely have been around (but ignored) for a couple of decades. Some of the neck and shoulder pains I've experienced showed up when I was working (too) intently on the first (never-finished) Lojban textbook back in 1989, but I didn't recognize the similarity until the pain from the current condition eased and evolved to resemble that much earlier pain. Lessons learned too late: don't sit too long at one time at the computer, and stretching exercises are good for ameliorating the effects of stress tension in muscles. -------------- At any rate, there seems to be no more discussion on any of the old or new business threads that were started. No one seems to have made any motions as a result of the discussions. Matt seemed interested in a bylaw amendment on the requirements for amending the bylaws, but there was no discussion or proposal. Alas, there seemed to be no interest in discussing what happens to LLG in the future after I'm no longer able to play a significant role due to age or health. Perhaps people can think on this over the next several months until the next meeting. ---------- If there is no further discussion, and no motions proposed prior to the end of Friday, 21 Mar (0000 UTC), the belated 2013 meeting will be adjourned. I intend to call the 2014 meeting in late summer, which is when we usually have started it, unless someone proposes an alternative (or the Board decides otherwise). lojbab Bob LeChevalier President _______________________________________________ Llg-members mailing list Llg-members@lojban.org http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/llg-members
