21 Kohleen Dr-McKees Rocks, PA 15136_-Was ready to start my first painting, paints mixed with medium and everything else built and ready - started getting bad headache after mixing the medium with paints. I am allergic to oil-based paints  aaagh - I just remembered that is why I stopped using them 20 years ago. What alternative is there ? Can I use your technique with watercolours or pastels - or is there a non oil-based oil paint substitute I could use ?.

Can I use your technique with watercolours or pastels - or is there a non oil-based oil paint substitute I could use ?. John, there was a member on the old forum who used Genesis Artist Colors. That paint created beautiful paintings. I believe it's oil based. The paint stayed wet until you heated it. Like putting the canvas in the oven on low heat. If I remember right he was allergic too. But you have to use special varnish on the finished painting. I wish I could remember his name. His work was fantastic.
