I received a demand from a Japanese professional artist (

)
for removing one of her artworks from the header image of a Russian Lojban
group:

She said she had never been asked for the permission of use of the picture
for that group. The artist is professional and the artworks are not
copylefted. Usually, anyone who wants to use her artworks must consult her,
and must even pay for that in many cases. That picture was originally
donated to Cogas, one of the most active Lojbanists in Japan, for one of
his twitter accounts

for the friendship between Cogas and the artist. Cogas was not informed of
use of the picture for the Russian Lojban group either. The picture was
therfore stolen by the Russian Lojban group, and the copyright holder has
not been aware of it for a long time.

I herewith consult all members of LLG about this problem because the
Russian Lojban group in question is recommended on the Russian top page of
the official website of Lojban:

Even though the top page of the official website is not tagged with
"official contents", visitors of the Lojban top page might believe that LLG
supports the violation of copyright of an artist for the Russian Lojban
group.

I recommend immediately removing the picture from the group page. I guess
Gleki can take responsibility for that.
