s overjoyed. She quickly payed for the rest of her things and ran from the =
shop before the old woman changed her mind. As the door of the curio shop c=
losed, Pavetta turned to the old woman with a scowl. ?Why would you to that=
 to that poor little girl?? she asked. The Crone chuckled. ?She?ll learn. T=
hey all must learn this life isn?t all sunshine and rainbows, Pavetta. Just=
 like you did.?
 That night, the young witch tossed and turned in her bed for hours. Secur=
ed in her jewelry box, Hannah could hear what sounded like a faint whisper =
coming from the Moldavite bracelet. It beckoned to her, begging to be worn,=
 played with, and heard. ?In the morning.? She called into the dark. ?Let m=
e sleep.? And she slowly drifted off. The next morning, what felt like a du=
ll roar was coming from her drawer. The old Crone was right, this thing had=
 to be powerful. ?I guess now is as good a time as any to try it out.? She =
thought. Slipping out from under her covers, Hannah made her way to the noi=
sy crystal. Admiring its deep, matte green tone, she slipped it on her wris=
t over her watch. ?Crap! I?m late for work!? Hannah shouted, noticing the t=
ime, 5 minutes to 10. The entire ride to the vet clinic, the girl swore she=
 could hear a faint whisper. She wasn?t sure if it was coming from the brac=
elet or just her own clouded thoughts, but it was definitely distracting. ?=

eluctantly handed over the bowl, and Hannah shut the door and started down =

Hannah sprinted out of the office. Had a FISH really just talked to her? Wh=
at the hell was going on? The young witch desperately tried to collect her =
thoughts, breathing in the fresh air, when another small voice called to he=

One of the creatures stopped and sighed. ?Gnomes. Yes, we?ve always been he=
re, we figured you could understand us because your aura is the same as all=
 the other gifted members of this world who can see those from beyond the v=

Hannah put her hands in her hair, totally baffled. Gift? Veil? What did any=
 of this mean? The gnome spoke up again. ?Miss. Your bracelet. That?s Molda=
vite, isn?t it? Ahh okay. That explains a lot. Miss, moldavite will give yo=
u the power to see us creatures from the enchanted world. Some of us travel=
 here to make lives you see, and most humans are too caught up in their liv=
es or oblivious to notice us. Moldavite makes it so you can see beyond your=
self.?
Hannah simply got up and nodded. ?thank you? she mumbled, staggering toward=
 her car. She thought twice for a moment. This was a lot to take in. She di=
dn?t want to risk an accident and decided to walk home. It was only two mil=
es, what could possibly happen?
 Hannah took the fastest route home, through Notsberry Park. But as she re=
ached the center, she noticed a large glowing hole in the very middle of th=
e square. Nobody else seemed to notice this swirling vortex. Children playe=
d around it; folks read the paper near it as if nothing was there. Suddenly=
 the swirls turned from a white color to a burnt, glowing amber. A creature=
 immerged so large, it practically reached the treetops, making tiny gusts =
of wind as it stomped through the wooded paths, toward town. Hannah stood t=
here absolutely terrified, but the park goers simply commented on the nice =
breeze. That was it. She had to go see Mandy. Whatever ?gift? she had given=
 her, the young witch didn?t want it. Pavetta had been right, this was far =
too much for a baby witch. Being particularly careful not to step on what l=
ooked like pixies tending to the flower beds like hummingbirds, she started=
 east. Setting out for Mandy?s Magical Curios. . The plethora of things she=
 saw on the way absolutely astounded her. How could she have been so blind =
before. What was this mystical world she was suddenly enthralled in? Surely=
 other people could see these creatures, right? It all seemed so overwhelmi=
ng. That wicked old Crone knew exactly what she was doing when she handed o=
ver this bracelet. Even as Hannah tried to slip the bracelet off, it seemed=
 welded to her wrist, hissing at the thought of leaving its new owner. Afte=
r about a half an hour of sorting through sky high monsters, flying beasts,=
 tiny gardeners, and the all around strange and unusual, the witch finally =
arrived at the shop. Once again, she wasn?t paying attention as her hands s=
wung for the door, and once again, she smacked into someone on her way in. =
This time it wasn?t Pavetta, but a large, burly man, maybe 7 feet tall, wit=
h silver hair, dressed all in black. He simply grunted as the paper bag tha=
t was covering his treasure fell off. Hannah?s eyes grew wide at the site o=
f it. It was oval shaped, about the side of a cantaloupe, and covered in gr=
ay scales. The giant lowered his eyebrows with what sounded like a low grow=
l and rewrapped the item. Hannah shrunk down and apologized. He tipped his =
head to the girl, indicating no ill will, and she rushed inside. ?What did =
you do to me?!? the girl screamed, approaching the counter. ?Excuse ME litt=
le girl, I didn?t do diddly squat to you.? Pavetta shouted right back. Hann=
ah hadn?t noticed last time, but beneath Pavetta?s long white hair, pointed=
 ears seemed to be poking out. ?What?s this ruckus!? Hannah heard the Crone=
 shout from the back. ?You! You knew and you didn?t say anything! Why?!? th=
e girl yelled at the old witch. She merely chuckled in response. ?So, I was=
 right. You DO have the gift.?
?GIFT? This is not a gift! And I don?t want it! Take it back!? Hannah barke=
d. ?Simply can?t be done, girl. You chose the moldavite and the moldavite c=
hose you! Some people get a career change, others find or lose love. But th=

Hannah stared in awe and lowered her tone. ?But why me?? She asked the Cron=

ave to wake up the miniature Zelador's, known as the Zelador-Xminis. These =
came in handy especially when in need to reach small spaces, just like the =

r new home to become organized. Lucy would not have it any other way. She w=
orked out of the space so often that it had to be orderly and a place she c=
ould easily find everything she needed. The Zelador-Xminis were on the high=
est shelf that reached the ceiling of the garage. Lucy swiftly kicked on th=
e LLP, or Lifting Ladder Platform, balanced on either side of the oval shap=
ed hover-board and urged it to lift her up about five feet from the garage =

There was a bit of blood but nothing she couldn't bandage up quickly until =
Zelador-X700 could heal the wound with her curing laser function. Something=
 they were especially excited to install once they found out they were preg=

lance once again. She urged it up about another foot and a half until she c=
ould comfortably lift the panel and retrieve whatever was sitting just on t=

  <p><span style=3D"color: #ffffff;">Lucy and Tyler looked at the photo and=
 realized this is the exact space they had transported to. In this poor old=
 woman's kitchen where she is crying and praying that she wake up from a ba=
d nightmare. The couple both take hold of the photograph and suddenly they =
are back at their table. They run as fast as they can over to the floating =
crib that is rocking Bennie as he sleeps. With a sigh of relief they make t=
heir way back to the table.</span></p>=20

sion was playing in the background??, Lucy asked. ?About the illness and th=

yler slid the box toward him this time and started shuffling papers around =
until he found another piece of paper folded with a picture inside of it. T=
his time the picture was in one of the bedrooms. They both held the photo t=
ight and found themselves back in the old, despondent home that once stood =
in the same place theirs now resides.</span></p>=20

oxygen, a bedside trash can filled with tissues, some containing spots of b=

  <p><span style=3D"color: #ffffff;">A younger woman wearing two masks, a f=
ace-shield and gloves comes into the room with bowls of matzo ball soup for=
 the two elderly women in the bed, both temporarily lifting their oxygen ma=
sks to drink as much of the soup as they can stand. The younger woman keeps=
 her distance but you can clearly see her face-shield fogging up with her i=
ncessant tears. Lucy stares up at Tyler and slowly puts the photograph in h=
is hand.</span></p>=20

  <p><span style=3D"color: #ffffff;">As soon as they are back at the table =
the couple forces themselves into a saddened embrace. Each sob into each ot=
her's arms and share a moment of recognition for one another and the fact t=

sibility to finish their story.? Tyler puts his forehead to Lucy's and take=
s hold of the picture. This time the picture is facing a kitchen nook with =
a stack of papers on the table, looking out the window at hundreds of peopl=

inside the small kitchen where they are accompanied by the same young woman=

s paperwork that the young woman was signing. Still with tears rolling down=
 her face, seemingly trying her hardest to ignore what was going on outside=
 The kitchen was quiet but the sounds outside were incredible.&nbsp;</span=

uld hear the stomp of their feet. Like their words were not the only thing =
that was going to penetrate the sound barriers. You would not just hear the=
m but you would feel them and their presence. And their presence would rema=
in long after these justice warriors went home for the night.</span></p>=20

words they both knew what they were thinking. These were the very people wh=
o made it possible for the couple to have such an accepted and understandin=
g relationship. These were the people who would make it possible for Bennie=
, their mixed-race son to be able to grow up in a world where representatio=
n mattered and people were held accountable for their actions. A world wher=
e Lucy and Tyler did not have to fear for the life of their son if Bennie o=
ne day wanted to go out for a run, or make a stop at a convenience store, o=

planned for the time traveler to take this piece of history with them?, he =
