It makes proper names, like "the Empire State Building" or "Mario." What you want is "zo," which indicates a one-word quote. So, "zo xu." However, "zo cmavo" in place of "la cmavo" wouldn't work either. I'm not sure how to say that xu is "part of the set, cmavo."
