This is way way OT but: The situation in 1200-1215 is there were several barons who held lands in Normandy and England as fiefs of John K. of E. & Duke of N. Then the K. of France took Normandy. So they had to pick; you can't be loyal to both, and you don't have an option to sell. Those who stayed in England then tried to squeeze concessions from John & came up with Magna Carta.
