And I took quite a bit of artistic freedom in my interpretation. So I guess it's probably not as obvious as I at first thought. An old friend of mine (who also was a teen-ager in the 80s) came over too my place while I was working on that piece. And he wondered what I had been singing. So I typed out the lyrics on the computer screen and explained a little bit about lojban to him and gave a translation of the first two sentences (and their variations). And when I read ".i i'e pei .ei mi cusku dei" out loud to him he just grinned and said "Hey, Hey, Hey. That's what I say". No translation needed.
