A slinku'i (lo valsrslinku'i, as "slinku'i" is not a valid Lojban word) is a sequence of letters which contains at least two syllables and is not a valid gismu or lujvo, but when prefixed with a CV cmavo, results in a valid lujvo. In the case of "slinku'i", that lujvo is "paslinku'i", which makes more sense in Loglan than Lojban. "skrima" is a slinku'i. Someone came up with "damskrima", for "to fence, in the sense of swordfight". This is a valid type-4 fu'ivla, but a badly formed borrowing (it should be "dambrskrima" for type 3 or "eskrima" for type 4). Its importance is to show a bug in jbofi'e, which considers "dambrskrima" valid but "damskrima" invalid. Pierre
