I think I understand the need for an ".i". (I guess I imagined 'title'
and 'subtitle' as two utterances, which is probably not a good idea.)
Why, on the other hand, would one drop the "le"? I thought it
necessary to make clear that this is just 'a' coffee mug, not coffee
mugs in general.

I'm sorry, I meant "fk", of course. The top of the f tends to run into
the stem of the k when printed, and I probably won't dare to use/
create a ligature.
