Not necessarily: it can be non-human simply by not being
inter-fertile with Homo sapiens, but yet superior to humans as
well (and still similar, of course); at one time it seemed likely
that natural evolution would cause the descendants of modern humans
a few million years from now to fall into that category -- however,
barring some collapse of civilization in which even the current
knowledge of basic science and technology is lost, it now seems
that *natural* evolution will not have its way with us; *design*
will be the way of the (distant) future.

It appears that the difference between "jibni" and "simsa" is that
things can be similar by being identical, but "near" does not
include being identical.

As far as place structures, x1 of simsa is the thing that is
similar to something; ie, x1 is similar to x2 (in property), with
x2 being inferred to be lo remna.  That does make more sense than
"simsa remna" for the meaning that I want; "remna jibni" can be
rejected because it excludes the possibility that x1 is not just
similar to lo remna, but, in fact, a lo remna without a the
qualification of jibni.

"remsmi" it is, then.
