I've compared QuickDict (QD)= with my GoldenDict (GD) distribution,
that can be found at http= ://sites.google.com/site/slovlacukt/file-cabinet.
Here is what we get.

Operating system.
=A0QD. Windows
=A0GD. W= indows Linux Mac
=A0
A definite minus for QD, until one realizes that both Linux and Mac ar= e capable of running Windows programs. (Not being NATIVE is still a minus, = but not quite so much.)
=A0
Dictionaries
=A0QD. gismu cma= vo lujvo (?)
=A0GD. gismu cmavo lujvo + any other dictionaries including= simplified
gismu, etymology, mnemonics, the whole jbovlaste and much more.
=A0
I'm sure it would quite easy to make QD able to extend it's di= ctionary database with very little coding - and if it were reprogrammed for= that it would actually surpass GD, as its dictionary format is plain text,= whereas GD requires specialized formats. (i.e. QD > GD in ease of use o= f creating/editing dictionaries.)
=A0
Search through dictionaries
= =A0QD No
=A0GD Yes
Search history
=A0QD No
=A0GD Yes
Can cop= y the translation to clipboard ?
=A0QD No
=A0GD Yes
=A0
I've never used any of those features of GD and don't really c= are about them. I pretty much exclusively use GD's scan popup feature, = except in the very annoying cases where it doesn't work - which is freq= uent.
=A0
Size of distribution
=A0QD se= veral kilobytes
=A0GD >12 megabytes

So the last feature is the= only plus of QuickDict.
I don't mean QuickDict is bad, it's just less easy to use (for the<= br>time being !).
If QuickDict can be expanded to Linux and Mac it would= be wonderful.
=A0
Considering that I only use the scan popup feature of GD (when it work= s), and QD seems to be naught but the scan popup, I would rather use QD tha= n GD, especially seeing as, for me,=A0GD is bloated - that is, has many thi= ngs I neither want nor need.

=A0
(And yes, I know that GD has the ability to query websites, and that t= here is a website one can use to break apart and/or form lujvo, but the web= site handling by GD is absolutely atrocious and works even less often than = the scan popup.
