I've heard on IRC and such that here's a &quo= t;tagged usage". =A0This is the usage described in CLL chapter 9 secti= on 12.

After re-re-re-re-reading the section, I (yet again) un= derstand tagged jai. =A0I just don't see it used often enough to make i= t really stick.

Hopefully this latest romp will ma= ke it stick for good. =A0Incidentally, the CLL really does a good job of ex= plaining it.

For the nintadni out there, here's how tagged jai w= orks:

Before the selbri, you can say {jai <BAI&= gt; broda} where <BAI> is anything under selma'o "BAI" = (I'm not sure if you can put other tags in there like "pu" an= d such... could be neat). =A0This construct changes x1 to be a sumti that w= ould normally be in the <BAI> position.

e.g. =A0{mi cusku bau la lojban} =3D {la lojban jai bau= cusku fai mi}.

I guess the two usages kind of mak= e sense now if you think of taggless {jai} as a more generic form of {jai T= AG selbri}. =A0Leave out the "TAG" and it's just a generic su= mti that gets swapped into x1.
