The foreign part can look like a gismu, a slinku'i, a lujvo, or a tosmabru. But if someone wanted to use "semla" by itself as a Lojban word for a particular kind of pastry, that is quite another matter. A particular kind of pastry, eaten in Northern Europe at a particular time of year, does not deserve a gismu.
