Interesting. They were, BUT were not the only possible solution. The precedent was set by JCB who has had a JA/A distinction in the language since well before anyone tried to YACC a grammar. The other way we considered was a simple cmavo determining type of connective followed by only one "series", probably JA. This is in effect what we did for termsets, with NUhU+connective. If we had gone fully to that system, we would have used up fewer cmavo, but the solution we chose was more in keeping with JCB's design philosophy. lojbab
