Back to an earlier point. Edward Ashbee, in creating his nom de porn, overtly
used just fraxi, not fraxinus.  Of course, given the repeated hysteron
proteron algorithm involved, the nus is still there in fact: fraxinus apis =>
Pisanus Fraxi.
