Re: [jboske] loi: quantitative claims

So now Jorge and I understand loi differently, as well as all the
other gadri. Right now, I'm empathising with pc. :-(
But as far as loi is concerned, the official definition is: anything
that can be predicated of an individual {lo broda} can be predicated
of {loi broda}, and some extra claims (let's call them mass claims)
can also be predicated of {loi broda}.
So {loi cinfo} lives in both Africa and Australia, because individuals do.
I'll throw this in here, because with lojban.org back up I have 200-odd
messages to read and I'll forget by the time I find the most recent in this
thread.
In all the discussion about masses and Mr. Rabbits:
I see a rabbit eating cabbage in my garden,
loi ractu cu citka le mi kobli
(Rabbitdom is eating my cabbage.)
is true
Mr. Rabbit is eating cabbage in my garden.
Now, if FIVE rabbits are eating cabbage in my garden, how does a
Trobriander describe it?
The same statement about loi ractu is true.
Which of the following is how they describe it?
Mr. Rabbit is eating my cabbage.
Five Mr. Rabbits are eating my cabbage.
Mr, Five-rabbits are eating my cabbage.
If the former, is it indeed true that the Trobriander does not distinguish
between 1 and 5 rabbits eating the cabbage?
