If all direction-roads are runways, it would be redundant. If some
aren't, it changes the meaning; Pierre's coinage seems logical to
refer to roads whose directionality is more important than their
precise location, whether or not they are runways for aircraft. (The
closest I can think of is the streets of Black Rock City, which are
identified by direction but this identification is as much about where
they are located.)
