[lojban-beginners] Re: gismu abbreviations?

First of all... um, hi, everyone, I'm new. I'm an Aussie student who 
stumbled across Lojban on wikipedia and thought it looked interesting, 
particularly when compared to my Media Studies essays...

Anyway, regarding being Scottish... personally, I rather prefer my 
distinctly un-Scottish climate, and though I don't know where Ms Wood 
lives, I have a hunch she might too... ;o)

Hmmm... would we be able to get away with an IPA [C] instead of the IPA 
[x] for a lojban "x"? To my rather ham-fisted understanding of such 
things, the former is pretty close to a unvoiced English "y" or the 
[hj] sound in "huge", so it's easier on those of us who didn't learn to 
cough up hairballs during childhood. ;o)
