I was wondering if anyone out there knows whether Lojban has a
diminutive, or anything like it. Like adding -ito or -ita to
things in Spanish, the difference between Bill and Billy or kitten and
kitty, stuff like that. I thought adding 'cma' from cmalu would
work, but it occurred to me that Lojban, a highly logical language,
would just regard anything with "cma" tacked on the front to be a
literally small [whatever]. "cmamlatu" would mean "small cat,"
not "kitty." "citno mlatu" would sort of work for "kitty," but
that still leaves me choosing between "young" and "small" and such
equivalents for each word. Still no universal diminutive.
Anyone out there able to help?
Perhaps try {dirba} or {.iu}
