Still working on Just So Stories on and off. I finished Lojban for
Beginners, which tipped me off to some nice grammatical cleanups (like
using the FA cmavo to pull the continuing dialogue trick (i.e. "But,"
he said, "it's too late.")), which in turn got me revising what I
already had. Very near the beginning of The Beginning of the
Armadillos, there's a bit about a Stickly-Prickly Hedgehog who eats
"shelly snails and things." I used {lo calku cakcurnu} for "shelly
snails," but the "and things" really threw me for a loop. Right now
I've got {.e lo simsa} stuck in there. Is there a generic Lojban word
for things? Stuff? Anything of that nature?
While the "and things" are logically superfluous, {ri citka lo calku
cakcurnu .e zo'e} comes to mind.
