[lojban-beginners] created it today?

I'm having trouble phrasing the notion "Today I am creating ____".  Create/invent is finti so I think that applies to creation of something not specific to writing in words.  cabdei is for today. But to put them together in a predictable way, I'm confused.  finti doesn't have an selbri for when the creation occurs, so I wouldn't know where to put la cabdei in the phrase "mi finti la carni".
