What I tried to do was speak each number as a separate recording, but my girlfriend did not. She quickly counted all five numbers as one recording, then went back to cooking herself some breakfast. When a person counts down, they often treat the string of numbers like a sentence,
vocally: start at a higher pitch and end
at a lower pitch. That's what she did. Vowel length might go into this as well. "Dramatic performance" was not the best phrase to describe these choices, but it was the best one I could think of at the time.
