I can see {la balritgug} would be OK, but surely not {la jorne nolraitrugug}? I understand you cannot mix gismu and cmevla in a cmene.

You are quite right that {la jorne .nolraitrugug.} is incorrect. If you pronounce it without a pause after jorne, it would become {la jornenolraitrugug}, which is valid. As far as I know, you can't mix gismu and cmevla in a sumti, except through expediencies such as {me}. Jbofihe agrees.
