(and before I drive off any (more?) beginners, since this is a
beginners list, I'll briefly recap some the dialogue....
Samuel is teaching a class of 25 students in his summer camp the
language lojban. Being that he feels that his level of lojban isn't
expert, he wants to ask a few questions as they come up. One question
that came up was how to express "Justin" in lojban
since both vowel sounds (short u and schwa) are represented the same
in lojban -"y", and furthermore, the rules of lojban state that "y"
must always be unstressed, whereas the English name should be stressed
on the first syllable. Xorxes stated that it doesn't really matter
which syllable is stressed, the words would be the same (just like
with cmavo, and unlike brivla), and I am currently advising Samuel
that Xorxes and I have disagreed about this in the past, that I
believe that stress can be and is a distinguishing feature in cmevla
as well. Okay, as you were, beginners....)
