To clarify: You may not insert spaces or pauses into the middle of words.
Whitespace between two words may only be omitted if the first word is not a
{brivla} or its emphasized syllable is clearly marked. Thus, you can omit
spaces between {cmavo}, {cmene}, and {cmavo} & {cmene}, and you may prepend a
{cmavo} or {cmene} to a {brivla} without any ambiguity (to experts of Lojban,
at least; omitting spaces before {brivla} is virtually never done), but if you
append anything to a {brivla}, that {brivla}'s emphasis must be marked. Also,
mandatory pauses (e.g., after {cmene} or before words beginning with vowels)
must *always* be written as a period, though a period next to whitespace is
technically redundant and can be omitted without any loss of ambiguity (though
I'm not sure whether such practice is officially valid or not).
