"how are you?" is kind of a weird _expression_.  In english it can mean a lot of different things depending on tone etc...  Some rough equivalent are:

{xu do kanro}  (literally "are you healthy") which represents more of that english way of saying "how are you" in a concerned tone.
{do mo}  (literally, "you do what") which is more like "what are you up to?"
{ma mo} (literally, "who does what") which is something like "what's up"?

There is purported to be a Lojban phrasebook somewhere, although I
have personally never seen it.

"How are you?"

How about {do ca mo lifri}?  Loosely translated: "How's your life?"
Is that likely to be understood?
