Wait... what? Light is a stream of neons. Although one neon isn't what
we would usually call a "stream", it still *is* light. Neons don't
emit light, they *are* light.

Perhaps you are thinking of neon signs. Such signs are called that, not because they give off their own light, but because they use neon gas to give off light.
