I think it is.

First of all, a bridi includes as many sumti are there, regardless of
whether the selbri has a definition for all the sumti places or not.

The interpretation of undefined sumti is left to the reader and should
be desumed by the context. It's a feature that shouldn't be abused, I
think,  but if I say  {mi sipna lo ckana} I'm rather sure you will get
that "I sleep in the bed" even if sipna2 is not defined. (You are of
course authorized to understand otherwise if you want).

That said, once a lujvo is created, It's a creator's responsability to
assing a meaning to it and to its sumti places. Hopefully the meaning
will be related to the orignal meaning of the rafsi, but there's no
strict rule.

So, to me, {selpre} is a valid word and assigning "personality" to it
seems a sensible choice. The gloss for {prenu} also have: "x1 displays
personality/ a persona" (not sure what this means, in English,
though).
