Technically by {ta} we can assume a place and thus {lo ta tricu} can imply {lo va tricu}

"lo ta tricu" means "that one's tree", that is, someone at a medium distance
or near you owns a tree, and we're referring to the tree, which could be
anywhere. "lo va tricu" means "that tree".

"lo va tricu" and "le va tricu" are both fine here. There are lots of phrases
where either article can be used.
