To me, they are different only for contingent (and commercial)
reasons. Take the Nook: an eBook reader that can be hacked to run
Android on it.

Under the hood they are the same object: a portable screen that will
be used to access to contents. Depending on the power of the
underlining hardware it can be just text or can be a movie or other.
