Hi there, I started Deliri Inc - a small tech start-up located in somebody's basement. We spend a lot of time thinking up strange things, like what a bastard child of a one-night-stand between YouTube and Wikipedia would look like. We just wanted to invite you to take a look at said child, and our attempt at a solution for the oldest problem humanity has been plagued with: cross-language communication. Our site (SiLo) attempts to organize and cross link 880 Languages. What languages, you ask? The usual suspects, plus loads of dialects, sign languages, and a few friends from outer space (Klingon, Vulcan, etc.). This list wouldn't be complete without Lojban and we think this is a perfect place for your community to spread the awareness about the language as well as create a digital archive of it for study We believe that those who are not original can't lead, in which case they might as well forget about it, so here's how our approach is different from Google's and just about anyone else out there: * Context- and grammar-sensitive translations * Native speakers with proper pronunciation vs. monotonized robot voices * Support for different dialects * VIDEO! * User-generated content * A suggestion list of related phrases (helpful for learning a language) * Community-building features * Soon-to-be implemented moderation to weed out poor contributions * Eventually on mobile phones/tablets HOW TO USE: Go to: www.delirisilo.com |OR| www.deliri.com/silo Try searching for "What's your name?" from English to Lojban. Search between languages - for example - "Où est la salle de bain?" from French to Persian. Or if you're just looking for a quick demonstration: scroll down to the bottom of the search page and click on any of the latest additions to see how it works. The site is ideally viewed using Google Chrome on a Mac or a PC, but any modern browser should suffice. Mobile/Tablet access is disabled. The product is still in Beta, which means you may run into the occasional bug or odd behaviour. Refreshing the browser and/or clearing the cache usually clears up most issues. Know that we're working to fix the problems you're noticing (and many more you probably won't). Enjoy your Deliri experience and we look forward to your feedback (good or bad). Thanks in advance for your time and efforts. -------------------------
