That seems right to me. That's pretty much exactly how I would have
said it, except I might have left off the "be mi" as redundant (you
can't usually feel pain in someone else's thumb).

Well you can watch my videos here:

http://youtube.com/selckiku

There's over 150 of them now. Some of them are just me speaking at my
normal level, which would be hard for a nintadni to follow (even
though it's pretty childishly simple, really, from another
perspective). A lot of them though are simple demonstrations where I
point something out, and there's a few lessons in English.

My goal is to make enough videos that it would be possible to learn
Lojban just from watching them. I don't think I can really completely
accomplish that goal on my own, though, or at least not any time soon.
It would be possible if lots of people helped, though. It's quite
easy to contribute a Lojban immersion video: Find some object, point
at it, and say "ti (word for the object)"! All you beginners could
contribute, and we'd get there in no time.

Making a video for a word is an excellent way to teach it to yourself,
too. You'll be much more likely to retain it once you've actually
done something with it. If it's possible to illustrate a word in a
picture I'll often make a ctuxra (ctuca+pixra, teaching picture) to
help myself remember it. For instance recently I was going through a
most-common-gismu list and the first one I didn't know was "jemna", so
I made this ctuxra to help me remember:

One of the best ways to teach yourself is to teach everyone. We're
all in this together!
