In the improve community, I'm familiar with two variations of this
game used as warm-up tools.

One I know as word popcorn, where you say the first word that comes
to mind, no matter what it is.  It is designed to break down self-
censorship.

The other I know as Word at a time, where each person says one word
around the circle trying to tell a cohesive story.

A variation of that game is a counting game, where as a group, with
no pattern or clues, you try as a group to monotonically count to 20.
If a number is repeated (say two people say '2') or a pattern developers
(like the count going clockwise around the circle) you start over at
1 and try again.

For your game, sufficiently clever players would need to ban use of
the word 'si'!

You're right. I hadn't thought about the magic words. This game is basically the word at a time one, although more simple. One of my friends compared it Mad Libs. (Speaking of, wouldn't a Lojbanic Mad Libs be great?)
