Hmm... "Celebrating the day approximately a fortnight before perihelion" seems to me to be the appropriate event. I just started learning lojban this week, though, so I'll leave lujvo creation to the more experienced readers.
durmijnunsla, btw, is a lujvo referring to celebrating an event of the winter solstice, it's the most culturally neutral way to say it.
